Associate Director, Power, Africa and the Middle East, S&P Global Energy

Silvia Macri is an Associate Director at S&P Global Energy, leading research on power and renewable energy markets across Africa and the Middle East. She heads a team specializing in power market fundamentals, long-term outlooks, policy and strategy, and competitive analysis.

With over 14 years of experience in regional renewables research, Silvia has led analysis on renewable energy policy, evolving business models, emerging strategies, project development activity, and competitive dynamics. She has played a key role in consulting engagements supporting governments and private-sector clients on long-term energy strategies, power system planning, commercial due diligence, and market entry assessments.

Before joining S&P Global, Silvia worked as an energy researcher and journalist at the Middle East Economic Survey (MEES) in Lebanon and served as a development advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cairo, Egypt.

Silvia holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Bologna and a Master’s degree in Arab Gulf Studies from the University of Exeter. She is a Certified Expert in Climate and Renewable Energy Finance (Frankfurt School, 2018). Based in Paris, she is fluent in Italian, English, Spanish, and French, with basic proficiency in Arabic.
