Paul Callaghan

Paul Callaghan, a British National, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute of London. Paul has over 35 years of professional experience including more than 29 years in Oman. Paul was previously the Oman Head of Financial Services for a big 4 firm and has experience in providing a wide range of audit, corporate finance and advisory engagements to clients, including strategic advice.  He has extensive transactions experience including valuations, due diligence and mergers & acquisitions work, including inputs to sale & purchase agreements and deal structuring.  He was an accredited transactions partner in a big 4 firm. He has attended the Moore Global Alumni Leadership Training Programme at the Harvard Business School. Paul is a member of the Moore Global Energy Mining and Renewables Steering Committee (being the global lead for the Energy subsector) and IFRS Technical Steering Committee.

Paul has experience in providing a wide range of services to clients across many sectors including: Telecoms; oil and gas; power and water; manufacturing; real estate; hotels and tourism; contracting; FMCG; Retail; logistics and shipping; financial services; banking; insurance; not for profit; pension funds; and education.  He has had several articles published in Oman newspapers and periodicals, including OER and Business Today, along with thought leadership published during Global energy events.  Paul has presented, moderated and sat on panels at local and international conferences.  He carries out quality reviews of existing and potential new member firms for the Moore Global Network.

Paul has led audits, due diligence and valuations of businesses in Oman, including building financial models and preparing financial feasibility studies as well as overseen the provision of a wide range of advisory and assurance engagements to entities in Oman.
