Mike Sangster is Senior Vice President Africa at TotalEnergies, a role he has held since September 2023. He has a distinguished career within TotalEnergies, having served as Managing Director in various regions including Nigeria (2019–2023) and Australia (2010–2014). From 2015 to 2019, he was Senior Vice President, Investor Relations at Total, overseeing the company’s engagement with the investment community.

Since joining Total in 1995, Mike has held multiple senior roles in Exploration & Production, including President & General Manager of Total’s upstream subsidiary in Thailand, Vice President of Economics, Strategy and Planning, Vice President Business Development & Strategy for Total E&P USA, and Senior International Negotiator. His extensive experience spans strategic planning, business development, and operational leadership across global markets.

Mike holds a BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and began his career as Corporate Development Manager for Scottish Power plc before joining Total. He is recognized for his leadership in advancing TotalEnergies’ energy projects and sustainable growth initiatives across Africa and beyond.
