Julius Rone
Mr. Julius Rone began his career as a Protocol Assistant at OMPADEC, serving from 1995 to 2000. From 2000 to 2008, he worked with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as the Protocol Assistant to the Chairman. Since 2008, he has held the position of Group Managing Director at UTM Group of Companies.
Mr. Rone is a seasoned administrator and industrialist with extensive experience spanning both the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy. He is a major player in the oil and gas industry, known for his visionary leadership, strategic thinking, and commitment to servant leadership. His innovative approach has positioned him at the forefront of transformative projects with a focus on sustainability.
In alignment with the Nigerian President’s agenda for the full utilization of the country’s vast gas resources to drive industrialization, Mr. Rone is championing the establishment of Nigeria’s first Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility. UTM Offshore is the first wholly Nigerian-owned company in Africa to embark on a project of this magnitude.
The FLNG facility is projected to create employment for at least 15,000 Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones, underscoring Mr. Rone’s dedication to inclusive growth and national unity. He is widely regarded as a trailblazer and a truly detribalized Nigerian committed to shaping a sustainable future for the nation.
