Humphrey Asiimwe
Is the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (UCMP). Humphrey Asiimwe is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in the mining and petroleum sector. As CEO of the Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum, he plays a crucial role in promoting the growth and development of the energy and extractives sector in Uganda. His expertise includes policy analysis, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement. The Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (UCMP) is a not-for-profit, Member based voluntary organization that represents the interests of private sector players in the energy and extractive sectors in Uganda. UCMP exists for advocacy, capacity building, and networking as well as providing well researched information about the country’s extractive sector.
Under his leadership, the Chamber has successfully advocated for policy reforms, increased investment, and improved sector governance. Humphrey is a strong advocate for sustainable and responsible mining practices and has worked tirelessly to promote the sector's contribution to Uganda's economic development. He holds a Master's degree in Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Makerere University Kampala.
