Honorable Wilmot J.M. Paye, Liberia’s current Minister of Mines and Energy, is an experienced administrator, strategic thinker, and professional mining engineer. He has over ten years of leadership experience in Liberia’s public sector and possesses a broad understanding of key governance issues within the mining and energy sectors. Minister Paye has served in various roles, including Assistant Minister for Research and Technical Services at the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection; Assistant Minister for Commerce and Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry; and Assistant Minister for Land and Rail Transport at the Ministry of Transport.

Additionally, Minister Paye served as the National Secretary General and later the National Chairman of the Unity Party. He is currently a member of the Party’s National Executive Committee. In 2024, he was appointed as a member of the Joint Presidential Transition Team, where he led the Energy and Petroleum Cluster Working Group. He is currently spearheading critical reforms at the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
