Géraud Moussarie is a seasoned professional with extensive international experience in managing multi-country relationships and developing large-scale value in the energy, infrastructure, and mining sectors across Africa and Caucasian Asia. He is deeply committed to fostering win-win partnerships that create positive, sustainable impacts for all stakeholders, with a strong focus on harnessing local talent and enhancing value from local business ecosystems.

As the Managing Partner of Sustainable Partnerships Ltd, Géraud leads the company’s mission to develop mutually beneficial large-scale projects in energy, mining, and infrastructure. Currently mandated by investment funds and license-holders, his goal is to cultivate 10-year partnerships with 10 entities, helping them secure leadership positions in their respective industries. The firm’s current focus is on the African Atlantic coast, with active projects in Namibia, Morocco, Senegal, Guinea, and Gabon.

Previously, Géraud served as the Head of Country for Rio Tinto in Guinea, where he played a pivotal role in the early development of the Simandou Green Iron Ore Project, one of Africa’s largest and richest mining operations. With over $20 billion in investment, including a 650 km rail corridor and port, this project has the potential to significantly transform the local economy and generate lasting value for all involved.

Before his tenure at Rio Tinto, Géraud oversaw the in-country development of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) offshore gas discovery, which spans the maritime border between Senegal and Mauritania. He also initiated negotiations with key stakeholders to advance the Yakkar Teranga gas discovery, focusing on maximizing local value chains and ensuring sustainable development.

Géraud holds a French degree in Business Administration and is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (UK). With over 25 years of experience in oil and gas joint ventures in Azerbaijan, North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa, Géraud is an active collaborator with businesses, academic institutions, and youth associations. He leverages his dynamic international network to explore innovative solutions in Sustainable Project Economics, contributing to the advancement of the energy, mining, and infrastructure sectors.
