Anibor Kragha

Executive Secretary, ARDA

Anibor Kragha is the Chief Executive of the African Refiners and Distributors Association (ARDA), where he leads the execution of the Association's core objectives on behalf of its 91 members across the continent. With a strong focus on promoting efficient, economic, and sustainable investments throughout the African downstream supply chain, he is dedicated to advancing African energy security. Anibor is also committed to developing a practical and unique roadmap to transition Africa’s current primary energy mix towards a more sustainable, lower-carbon future.

Before assuming leadership at ARDA, Anibor served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)’s Refineries Directorate, overseeing the operations of four refineries with a combined total refining capacity of 445,000 Barrels per Stream Day. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in developing and securing financing for the refineries’ rehabilitation plan and successfully coordinated the launch of the Port Harcourt refinery complex rehabilitation project.

Anibor’s experience at NNPC also includes serving as the inaugural Group General Manager (GGM) of Treasury, where he managed treasury operations and inter-company funding arrangements for the NNPC Group. In this capacity, he was instrumental in coordinating the implementation of Nigeria’s Treasury Single Account (TSA) initiative across all NNPC Strategic Business Units (SBUs).

Prior to his time at NNPC, Anibor spent 12 years at ExxonMobil, holding various roles in audit, commercial, and treasury both in Nigeria and the US. His final role at ExxonMobil was as the upstream treasurer for ExxonMobil affiliates in Nigeria, where he led the day-to-day operations of the organization’s treasury function.

Anibor began his career as a process engineer with the Polaroid Corporation in the US, before completing the prestigious Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) dual-degree fellowship at MIT. He returned to Nigeria in 2003, further solidifying his commitment to the African energy sector.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Anibor is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of energy professionals in Africa. He also has a passion for fine dining, architecture, and interior design.
