Congo’s SNPC Joins IAE 2025 as Gold Sponsor, Advancing Strategic Investment Push
Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC), the national oil company of the Republic of Congo, has joined the Invest in African Energy (IAE) 2025 Forum in Paris as a Gold Sponsor. The sponsorship highlights SNPC’s growing role in Africa’s energy sector, as it strengthens its position as a key player in both onshore and offshore exploration and production activities.

Under the leadership of Maixent Raoul Ominga SNPC is leading the expansion of Congo’s upstream sector, advancing key onshore assets such as the Nanga I, Kouakouala II, Zingali II and Le Mayombe II fields. The NOC has also taken over operatorship of the Kouakouala field, previously managed by Eni. These efforts, along with its offshore activities and an upcoming licensing round, align with Congo’s objective of increasing production to 500,000 barrels per day.

IAE 2025 is an exclusive forum designed to facilitate investment between African energy markets and global investors.Taking place May 13-14, 2025 in Paris, the event offers delegates two days of intensive engagement with industry experts, project developers, investors and policymakers. SNPC also plays a pivotal role in Congo’s expanding gas industry, partnering on major initiatives such as Eni’s Congo LNG, which aims to develop a leading liquefied natural gas export facility, and Wing Wah’s Banga Kayo project, which unlocks associated gas supplies for regional and domestic markets. Additionally, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hydrocarbons, SNPC is spearheading the development of Congo’s new gas code and gas master plan to modernize the regulatory framework, attract investment and drive sustainable growth.

SNPC’s participation at IAE 2025 is a critical step toward attracting investment to Congo’s energy sector. The event offers an invaluable platform for engaging with industry leaders, policymakers and investors, creating opportunities for collaboration and investment while showcasing Congo’s growing oil and gas industry and available licensing opportunities. By participating as a Gold Sponsor, SNPC aims to strengthen its position in the global energy market, attract strategic partnerships and highlight its commitment to driving sustainable development of the country’s energy sector.
