Foday Mansaray Director-General, Petroleum Directorate of Sierra Leone Director General Foday Mansaray holds an MSc in Advance Chemical Engineering (University of Birmingham; UK) and a BEng in Chemical Engineering with Management Studies (Aston University; UK). He is an engineer with extensive international experience, possessing superb leadership, organizational, communication and technical skills. He is multi-lingual, speaking English and Krio and proficient in French. The Director General’s wealth of international experience includes delivering and consulting on multi-billion-dollar oil and gas exploration and production projects globally including in Algeria, Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Gabon, GOM, Israel, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, UK, and UAE. Having worked for world-class oil and gas organizations such as AMEC, Expro Group, Schlumberger, TechnipFMC, Total and Wood as well as consulting for companies such as ADNOC, Aramco, BP, Chevron, and Shell, he has cultivated strong relationships in the oil and gas sector. Director General Foday Mansaray’s experience has provided a solid grounding in exploration activities, project planning, project managing, accounting, marketing, process economics, safety, and international regulations. He has extensive technical and practical hands-on knowledge of the key operating systems within the offshore and onshore Oil and Gas industry processing chain. This includes subsea processing and flow assurance, fluid separation, gas treatment, produced water management and Life of Field management strategies. The Director General’s key areas of expertise are project management and providing existing mature company assets and greenfield projects with a full range of technical expertise and services to ensure safe, environmentally sound, and economically viable production of hydrocarbons. Complimenting his technical competence, he also brings some strong personal qualities. The Director General is a highly effective and diplomatic interlocutor with an excellent track record in improving project efficiency, leading programs and cross-disciplinary teams with an outcome-focused approach while distilling technical and financial complexities and cultural sensitivities. His confident ‘lead from the front’ approach, generates high morale and confidence among the people he works with.
